Star Trek: The Experience To Close

Star_Trek_New_Logo.jpgCaptains log, star date, well, today. It's sad to learn that Star Trek: The Experience will be closing its doors at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 1st.

This attraction was a unique opportunity to see Star Trek memorabilia, get sick on a few rides, and spend some of your hard earned cash in the souvenir shops. I was able to take a couple of photos with a Borg and a Klingon Woman when I was there not too long ago. It was a blast. I really hope CBS listens to the fans and finds a new home for the attraction in Las Vegas, and even expands it. Great time to do this with a new movie coming out. I really hope the fans aren't screwed again by Paramount and CBS.

Long Live Star Trek!

  2. @Laura, yeah, it really blows. I wonder why CBS/Paramount can't keep this franchise from failing.

And yes, there would really be no other reason to visit Vegas anymore, except maybe Coke World :)

  3. I live in Vegas and Im saddened by this turn of events. Yet another of the few remaining "Amazing/Fun" things leaves Vegas, probably to be replaced by yet another LA style ultra-hip lounge/club or some trendy shopping or something equally bland.

The ONLY reason to go to the Hilton will now be gone.

  4. Mike, I couldn't agree more. It was a great place to take the Family, away from the casino. Very few of those places left.

And I am pretty sure the space will be taken over by the trendy shops, restaurants and clubs. Huge loss for Hilton.
