It makes no sense. It just doesn't. I don't care how convincing the story. Domain squatting is stupid, careless, stupid, (should be illegal), stupid, and should I say stupid?
Why would anyone want to spend all that money on domains which probably make them little if any money.
Many a good domain name sit hi-jacked by a bunch of morons.
In most cases I agree, but about 7 or 8 years ago I saw a case of domain squatting that amused me to no end.
ReplyDeleteSomeone pointed out to me how, if you "yahooo.com" (note the three O's), it redirected you to Yahoo almost immediately. But then he typed in "yaho.com," with one O. It opened a page that was completely blank except for the top left corner, where it said, "$15,000." I laughed and laughed and laughed; the message was crystal clear.
Yaho.com now takes you to Yahoo. I find myself hoping that it cost $15,000.
